Mini 17″ Windmills
This is the original 17″ mini Aero windmill. These have been manufactured since 1946 by a small company in Nebraska. The gear box and trim is red. Galvanized steel. Shown in a toy farm scene.
Here is a mini windmill with the Texas Flag on the tail for Texans and “friends” of Texas. Red, White and Blue Tail, Blue gearbox and Red trim on the wheel.
This windmill has is unique. It has a red ladder and is in red white and blue. Blue gearhead, Red, white and blue on the wheel and a flag and “United We Stand” on the tail.
When windmills were common there were many along the historic Route 66. This one has the route 66 Highway sign logo on the tail. Black gear head and trim. Galvanized steel. These mini windmills look great with G scale model railroad layouts.
The Heller Aller windmill company was located in Ohio from the 1890s to the 1990s. Has the Windmill Pumps since 1886 logo. A model of the Fairbury windmill made in Nebraska from the 1920′s t0 the 1960′s. Red gear housing. Red and Black trim. Lettered like the real Fairbury on the tail.
This is a model of the Currie Windmill made in Kansas in the early 1900′s. It has a unique 2 piece tail and a band around the outer wheel like the real Currie. Red top and black trim. Like all of the Mini Windmills this is galvanized steel.

The little 17″ windmills are made in the Midwest. I have recently learned that there are several different models available. The next posts will show each of the models including two that have just come out in the last month. This is a family owned business that has been making these mini windmills since 1946.
Once the legs and braces are together and tightened, then assembly the tail and wheel and add to the frame and you are done. BACK TO TOP
