Here is a very attractive custom windmill located in Colorado. This customer built a wooden windmill tower and then got a top parts kit. The wheel, tail fin, tail braces, pivot and mast-head and came up with this very nice looking windmill. You can click on the photo to enlarge it and click it again for a much larger view.

A customer recently told me about some items he has in his garden along with his new windmill. I was able to locate the manufacturer and just got their catalogs in the mail. (Yes mail as in an envelope delivered to my USPS mail box-this manufacturer is not on the internet) After looking through the catalogs it certainly looks like they have a number of interesting products. I will be going on a road trip as soon as I can get away over to their manufacturing facility to take a look at their products, see how they are made and getting more information. This manufacturer is in the United States, the raw materials they use are American made and the people working there are Americans. As you know I sell quality products that are Made in the USA and come from small manufacturers who use Made in the USA raw materials. It is looking like I may have found a whole new line of yard and garden products.

10 Foot Aluminum Windmill in Ohio

A customer just sent me a photo of her new 10 foot aluminum windmill. Certainly looks like a nice quiet and pretty place to spend some quality time. Thank you for your photo and comments. Click on the photo – it will open in a new window and then click it again to enlarge.

My husband’s father’s day present is here and we put it together and found it a home by my little garden barn. I’m soooo pleased. It took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble and then probably that much time again to get it level in it’s new home. I was surprised that it shipped from Shipshewana, IN and not KY.

I made trips to Shipshewana the last 2 years and tried to buy a windmill there but the store wasn’t open either time…………and I ended up getting one from there without even knowing it.

I’ve attached a picture of the windmill. Looks like I need to power wash my barn ! ha ha

A customer recently got a 4 foot aluminum windmill and also a 17 inch Route 66 mini windmill for her garden. She helped me put the instructions together for the 4 foot aluminum windmill by reading over what I had and telling me if the instructions made any sense to her. She apparently had not put anything like this together before. It looks she did a great job in putting them together and getting them placed in her garden . Really attractive setting and placement. Hi Ron.  I was able to assemble both the 17" and 4 ft windmills. 
It took many hours but I did it! I've attached pictures of the 4 ft windmill

Old windmill repaired just needed a new mast head

Customer saw my garden windmill listing on Amazon and wondered if it was possible to repair his Garden Windmill. After many years the mast head failed. Sent him a new mast head and he was able to fix his windmill.

If you are thinking about repairing an older or damaged windmill be certain to get my NEWSLETTER about the windmills. The parts I have are for the Made in the USA Windmill and will normally NOT fit the imported windmills. I do not carry parts for the imported windmills.

Incidently my interest for windmills goes back many years when horticulture was our main industry and the island had many glasshouse properties and the mills were used for pumping water into the greenhouses(called vineries as they were originally built to grow vines the grapes being exported to England and France) later tomatoes then flowers were grown.Unfortunatly there are now no more mills and only a handfull of vineries, competition ending the industry.Today Gsy like Jsy are major finiancial centers it brings in a lot of money to the Island but has made everything terribly expensive and over crowded, we have 2480 people to the Sq Mile.

No more College Windmills

There are no more of the College Windmills available. The manufacturer just told me that his supply of the University of Nebraska, University of Iowa and Iowa State is exhausted and that at least at present they are not going to be making any more.

The company that did the powder coat on these windmills has gone out of business so that means that the manufacturer of the windmills no longer has a place where he can get the powder coating done.

If you happen to know of a powder coat company that might be interested in doing the powder coat for the college windmills please let me know. Until a powder coat facility can be located there will be no more of the college windmills available.

I personally hate to see these go. A number of years ago I saw a University of Nebraska windmill and just knew I had to have one. A few years later I did in fact get one and in more recent times I began to sell college and garden windmills. Over the past few years I have sold a number of the college windmills and have had a number of very pleased customers.

There is a chance that the manufacturer may make this again in the future if a powder coat company can be located. So for now there are no more college windmills and it may be a very long time before they are available again if at all.

Customer turned a wooden pole into a windmill

Here are some photos a customer sent me. He has a wooden pole near his house that used to hold his TV antenna. He got an 8 foot steel wheel, pivot and tail and made a “mast head” out of brass oiled bushings which he placed inside of a short piece of pipe and attached this to the top of the pole.
